- Fixed & enhanced web-based system for purchase requests. System used by over 150 schools spanning several districts. Had to work in several different browser types.
Northeast Utilities, Hartford, CT
- Created system to track computer equipment purchase requests. Complex workflow began at request, flowed through many departments, and finished after servers were tested, installed, and in production. Was capable of tracking up to 100 computers per project simultaneously, allowing each machine to be at a different point in the workflow process.
- Fixed and/or enhanced several internal systems, including: flight request & schedule tracker, power line problem reporter, and internal software evaluation, installation & version tracking. Some systems were in use for years, passing through many different developers of various skills, and several different versions of Notes.
Hyperion Solutions, Stamford, CT
- Created Paid Time Off (PTO) tracking system for HR. Accrues available vacation time per pay period at different rates per seniority, all dynamic without changes to system itself. Tracks sick and vacation days, with manager approval workflow process.
- Enhanced above PTO Notes client system to use web client. Now supports all major browsers, as well as 4 different vacation policies based on employee location, and several different types of paid time off. Pulls employee data directly from relational HR system HRizon. Heavy uses of LotusScript, JavaScript, HTML, ODBC, and LEI.
- Worked with team of developers to create suite of applications for Hyperion Partner Program. Application form is filled out on Hyperion’s web site, and asks different questions per type of partnership desired. Submitted applications are routed to internal approval workflow database, and assigns different approvers per region and partner type. Approved applications are routed to internal current partners database, and “Alliance World” database that allows partners to modify company information on secure web site. Current partner database stores all partner related information, including logos and contacts, and has publish functionality to final database in suite, “Partner World”. Partner World contains subset of partner’s information and is available on web site. Each partner has own web page created dynamically and maintained up to the second from information in current partner database. Whole suite was created using Domino & Notes, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Created on-line survey to be filled out with Netscape Navigator at 50 kiosk workstations on Hyperion’s User Conference intranet using Domino and HTML. Survey is dynamic; asks different questions dependent on what Hyperion products the user owns.
- Competitor Information System retrieves data from several sources from paid providers (Dow Jones, First!, etc.) and provides approval process before information is distributed to the other users. User subscription functionality also publishes newsletter w/ links.
- Handbook and Training database for new hires. Allows administrator to create custom tests for new hires to take by filling out the questions and answer key in a form. Allows up to 50 questions, and choice of radio button, checkbox or text answers. Administrator can correct and either approve test or return it to new hire with corrections and comments within system, complete with green checks and red X's for right and wrong answers.
- Presentation Catalog presents Notes front-end to copy and track presentations written in other applications (Excel, Power Point, etc.) from the network to laptop’s hard drive.
Zenith Media, New York, NY
- Created Human Resources suite of applications. Main database replaced paperwork with electronic workflow for pay increases, benefits, hiring, terminating, and disability. Calculates company cost per month, including payroll taxes, partial months for new hires and terminations, bonuses, overtime, regular and retroactive salary increases, and vacation pay. Has annual budgeting capability and comparison reports to actual expense. Department Forecast database allows departmental managers to try different pay increases and bonuses and compare to budget, then submit for CFO approval.
- Created recruitment database that allows resumes to be scanned in with Domino.Doc. Tracks interview process, open positions and candidates for each, current and desired salary information, etc. Hire process initiates workflow in main HR database.
- Created Management Reporting database. Reports percentage of time employee is billing, and for what clients, and rolls up to department reports. Security allows department managers to only see own department, and CFO can see all departments. Also compares revenue collected per client to hours worked to create over/under servicing report. Imports employee’s hours and revenue collected from external systems on a monthly basis.
- Took over support for Billings Revenue database. Had to figure out other developer’s complex database after they were no longer available. Maintenance includes bug fixes & enhancements. Application includes abilities to solicit budget and actual revenue & billing from department heads, multi-year archive abilities, and reports capable of comparing budget, actual, and previous year projections.
Buyer’s Trust, Brookfield, CT
- Worked with team to develop suit of applications for real estate company.
- Home Search application allows potential customers to search for homes to purchase or rent using web browser over internet. Home listings are loaded from MLS daily automatically using LotusScript.
- Customer Tracking application captures personal information entered from web browser, including home search criteria. Distributes hot leads to sales force automatically based on location, nationwide. Sales force use Notes client or web browsers to correspond to individual customers or groups.
- Commission Tracking system calculates commission on home sales. Includes Buyer’s corporate cut, as well as potential multiple internal and external salespersons’ commission.
Allied Domecq Spirits, USA, Westport, CT
- Created purchase order, distribution, project management, client and invoice tracking applications.
- Distributed environment - many salespeople with laptops. Heavy replication and document-level security on all applications developed.
- Invoice tracking application had to read budget information from other Notes databases. Can support multiple line items on single invoice and track up to 10 different PO and internal accounting codes on each.
- Created Point of Sale (POS) system. Allows sales people in field to order promotional items, and designate their distributors as destinations. System collects orders from field, then generates and faxes shipping forms to vendors to fill order.
- Installed Lotus Fax Gateway and integrated with POS system. Later upgraded to LFS, then again to Domino.Fax.
Military Car Sales, Woodbury, NY
- Obtained Verisign certificates and installed SSL on 5 Domino servers.
- Created contest entry form that pops up in separate window if at MCS home page for more than 5 seconds. Contest rules, details, picture of prize vehicle, start date, end date & drawing date are all customized in form in Notes client (no development involved). System automatically determines active contest. Used Domino & Notes, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Created database to generate dynamic “window sticker” looking web pages from information in vehicle inventory database. Used Domino and HTML.
- Created web pages to generate hot leads. Interested military personal fill out information on web, which is e-mailed to correct salesperson based on location and car manufacturer. Used Domino, HTML & JavaScript.

- Escalation functionality sends e-mail notification if any step in workflow is taking too long.
- Platinum rolled out to several customers, including Warner Brothers and Morgan Stanley. Wrote Warner Brothers workflow and customization, and installed on-site in CA. Assisted Entex employee in creating Morgan Stanley workflow.
- Over 50 Order Accesstm installations to date.
